KIPON Baveyes introduced the electronic focal reducer 0.8x that brings the medium format Phase One M645 mount lens to the Fujifilm GFX camera, virtually eliminating any crop factor image loss and maintaining diagonal angle of view.
One stop brighter
By reducing the focal length of the lens, PHASE/M645-GFX E 0.8x increases light transmission, effectively increasing the aperture. For example, an F2.8 lens turns to F2.0. The depth of field is more blurred.
0.8x wider
PHASE/M645-GFX E 0.8x reduces the focal length by 0.8, the effective focal length becomes shorter so that the shooting range is larger. It allows the medium format lens view angle to be restored on a 44x33 camera sensor, with 0.8x adapters, you can get the similar feeling like using these lenses on original cameras.
Improve lens MTF
The 0.8x optics feature a telecentric design, to let light come into the digital sensor as vertically as possible. For some lenses, the quality of them would be improved after using the focal reducer 0.8x. We tested Mamiya 645 55-110mm f4.5 and 80mm f1.9 lenses by Zeiss K6, after mounting the focal reducer 0.8x, the lens quality improved.
Electronic aperture
PHASE/M645-GFX E 0.8x is equipped with electronic contacts and circuit board with chip, which allows you to control the lens aperture with the camera body. There's a Type-C port on the adapter for firmware update. Please note the adapter doesn't feature autofocus.
Please note that the adapter is compatible with Phase One M645 mount lenses. If you are using a Mamiya 645 AF lens, please contact us before placing the order. The adapter doesn't work with some M645 AF lenses.
